Permissions explained
ScreenBreathe requests permissions only for features you choose. Each permission is tied to a clear use case, such as blocking distracting apps, measuring screen time, or filtering websites.
Accessibility Service permission
Accessibility helps ScreenBreathe detect which app is in the foreground and when a supported content feed is active. This allows app blocks and Content Blocker to trigger when you need them.
Usage Access permission
Usage Access allows ScreenBreathe to read which apps you use and for how long. This supports focus insights, screen-time tracking and daily usage summaries.
VPN permission for website filtering
Android requires VPN permission for apps that filter web traffic at the device level. ScreenBreathe uses a local VPN to inspect DNS requests and block domains you decide to restrict.
Display over other apps
This permission lets the blocking screen appear above distracting apps so the app cannot be used while the block is active. It is only used for the features you enable.
