Terms of Service for ScreenBreathe

Effective: October 19, 2026
Last updated: October 22, 2026

Key points about these terms

1. Who we are, what these terms cover and acceptance

ScreenBreathe is a mixed-audience Android focus and screen-time app with optional parental-control features, and the website at https://screenbreathe.com. These terms apply to your use of the app and website.

By ticking the agreement box when you first open the app and continuing, or by using the website, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility, age and accounts

ScreenBreathe is a mixed-audience app. On first launch, the app asks you to select your month and year of birth. This age screen is self-declared; ScreenBreathe does not verify age or identity. You must answer it truthfully and must not try to bypass the age screen or the parental gate.

Accounts and subscriptions

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live, if higher) to create an account, sign in with Google or buy a Premium subscription. A minor must not do these things. If a parent or legal guardian signs in or subscribes on a device used by a minor, they must use their own Google account and confirm that they are an adult.

Use of ScreenBreathe by minors

ScreenBreathe’s basic, local features are available to users of all ages. However, a minor may only access accounts, third-party sign-in, or Premium subscriptions with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The parental gate that protects sign-in and purchases for users who select an under-18 age is an access safeguard, not proof of age or of parental authority. Do not let a minor complete the parental gate, and do not share its answers.

Parents and guardians

A parent or guardian may create and manage a Kids Profile and should explain its restrictions to the child. As the adult account holder, you are responsible for being authorized to manage the device, for following applicable laws about monitoring a device and a child’s use of it, and for purchases made with your account. See the App Privacy Policy for how age screening, local processing and limited third-party processing work.

Wrong age or unauthorized use

If we learn that an account was created or a subscription was bought by someone under 18 without the permission and supervision required by these terms, we may suspend or close the account. Refund requests are handled under the Refund and Cancellation page and applicable law.

3. What ScreenBreathe is, and what it is not

ScreenBreathe is a self-management tool with optional parental-control features. It is not medical advice, therapy, diagnosis or an emergency service, and using it does not guarantee any particular result.

App blocking and limits depend on Android, granted permissions, battery settings and device manufacturers. They may be bypassed or may fail. Website filtering uses DNS-based filtering and cannot block every website or connection. Emergency and essential apps are designed to stay available, but do not rely on ScreenBreathe in an emergency.

The app has no user-generated content, public posting or upload features. PDF reports are created on your device and shared only when you choose to share them.

Free and Premium features are described on the Pricing page. Features may vary as described there.

4. Permissions and device control

You decide whether to grant Usage Access, Accessibility Service, display over other apps, local VPN for DNS-based website filtering, notifications and optional Device Admin for Block Shield. Features that need a permission may stop working when it is removed. Block Shield is optional and can be turned off by following the steps shown in the app. Use ScreenBreathe only on devices you own or are authorized to manage.

5. Parental use and responsible monitoring

ScreenBreathe does not provide covert or hidden monitoring. Do not use it to monitor another adult without their knowledge and consent. You must follow applicable law when using parental-control or device-management features. Parents and guardians are responsible for decisions they make about a child's device and for explaining restrictions to the child.

6. Accounts and security

Sign-in with Google is optional and is required only to subscribe. By signing in, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you create or use an account, keep information you provide accurate and current. Protect your device, Google account and parent PIN, and notify us if you believe your account or the service has been misused.

How the Android app handles information is explained in the App Privacy Policy. Information collected through the website, including cookies and analytics, is explained in the Website Privacy Policy.

7. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Premium subscriptions are billed and managed by Google Play. Google Play shows the price, billing period, trial details and renewal terms before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled through Google Play. To cancel, open Google Play, go to Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, select ScreenBreathe and choose the cancellation option.

Uninstalling the app, deleting an account or signing out does not cancel a subscription. Google Play's rules govern subscription billing, cancellation and any plan or price changes. ScreenBreathe does not receive your full payment-card details.

Refund requests are handled under applicable law and Google Play rules. See the Refund and Cancellation page

8. Acceptable use of ScreenBreathe

You must not:

9. Ownership and licence

The app, website, ScreenBreathe name and logo, and original content belong to the operator or its licensors. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial use.

Open-source and other third-party components remain subject to their own licences. You keep ownership of your data and reports. If you voluntarily send feedback, you allow us to use it without payment or obligation to you. No trademark rights are granted.

10. Third-party services

ScreenBreathe may use Google Sign-In, Firebase, Google Play Billing, Google Public DNS and RevenueCat. Their own terms apply to the services they provide. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability or practices.

11. Availability, updates and changes to the service

We may update, change or discontinue features. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. ScreenBreathe is offered only in selected countries, and availability may change.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using ScreenBreathe at any time. We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these terms, a false age or an attempt to bypass the age screen or parental gate, unlawful use, misuse of the service or payment fraud. We will give notice where practical; we may act immediately in cases of serious or unlawful misuse.

After you stop using the app, local data remains on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall it. You must cancel any subscription separately in Google Play. Sections about ownership, liability, indemnity, disputes and any provisions that by their nature should continue will survive termination.

13. Important service disclaimers

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT BLOCKING WILL ALWAYS WORK OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES WARRANTIES OR CONSUMER RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) INR 1,000. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, OR EXCLUDES CONSUMER RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR A USER'S OR PARENT'S DECISIONS, USE OF THE SERVICE BY A PERSON UNDER 18 WITHOUT THE PERMISSION REQUIRED BY THESE TERMS, BLOCKS THAT FAIL BECAUSE OF ANDROID, DEVICE OR PERMISSION CHANGES, LOSS OF DATA STORED ONLY ON THE DEVICE, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES.

15. Indemnity and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for claims and losses arising from your breach of these terms or unlawful use of ScreenBreathe, including unlawful monitoring of another person.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern, first contact us at the support and grievance email below so we can try to resolve it informally. Subject to rights that cannot be waived under consumer law, the competent courts in Raigad District, Maharashtra will have jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits your right to approach a consumer forum or exercise a right that cannot be waived. These terms do not require arbitration or waive any class-action rights available under applicable law.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will show the updated date on this page. Where appropriate, we may also notify you in the app. Material changes apply going forward. If you continue using ScreenBreathe after updated terms take effect, that use means you accept them. Where changes are material, the app may ask you to accept the updated terms again. If you do not agree, stop using the service and cancel any subscription through Google Play.

18. General legal provisions

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund and Cancellation page, form the agreement between you and the operator about ScreenBreathe. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms. We may transfer them with the service. These terms do not create third-party beneficiaries.
